17 Days

10:45 a.m. I have to cover 17 days. Yikes. Or as much of it as I can. P.S. It's seriously cold, lately.

Continuing from Monday, December 4, 2023:

More browsing on Amazon. Then I had a chat and caught up with Mom.

Jen took me to work at 4 and it was not a good work day.

It was with Bob, and a new kid, Alex. He didn't speak to me up until around the end of the night. Shy I guess. I wound up being embarrassed by the end of the night.

Now, sometimes Bob would let me run the CashApp transaction, even though I'm not supposed to...and this particular customer wanted $500 on his CashApp. There was a red error message that popped up and I clicked off of it, and then Bob got very worried. The customer showed it didn't go through, but we could only hope it didn;t say so on the computer.

This all happened in front of the new guy, by the way, which is not a commendable first impression on my part.

And then he got worried because my drawer looked very, very short. And it wasn't until after Alex left he saw the missing money I put under the drawer (I tend to out 50s and 100s in there) and in the end, we came out okay on it. I was still a bit shaken.

The CashApp error didn't wind up making us look $500 short as feared. I even thought I might lose my job tonight, and told Grandpa as much.

It wasn't my only mistake of the day, so it wasn't a very good day.

Day Off.

Speaking of CashApp, Mom had $60 on hers she couldn't use...so she passed it to me. I gave Aaliyah $20. $10 went into a Hamster Steam Game Harmony and I were playing and DLC for a Task app I've been enjoying during Bible time. And the other $30 later went into groceries and such.

I had one of my major cleaning days and some Bible time.

My nice, rare, Holbein book came...I gave it a flip through before setting it on my bookshelf. It has plenty of black and white full-page sketches and I hope to recreate some, somdeay.

Mom is leaving tomorrow and is not expected to be back until next Wednesday, so she will be missed. Bella is being left here...the dog is a handful. Oi.

The good news is, Jesus is king and saves and we have eternal life through Him. :)

Um...also my Dailypay account was restores, but some hours were missing, so I need to get that sorted.

Harmony and I played Story of my Uncle and earlier in the day we watched 'How the West Was Fun' and the show, 'How It's Made.'

Morning shift.

I worked with Kim, and overall it was a good day.

Recently there were some lost kittens in the attic, and they were moved to the garage, without a mother...into a Walmart box. Grandpa checked on them this morning before we left and they seemed okay, but it is very, very cold out.

After I came home, (around 5 hours later) the kittens were dead...like very recently (died within the past 5-6 hours) dead. They were curled up together (for warmth) as though being simply asleep, but unmoving. One even had her arm stretched across the neck of the other. They clearly starved after a few days and died in their sleep. It was very unfortunate but nothing could be done.

The mother never came back for them and Jen and Mom feared they were rabid.

As I said in a previous post, there are vet people. And non-vet people. My family are non-vet people.

If an animal must die, it must die, but we can't pay hundreds of dollars to save them. Especially if they aren't ours.

I really wanted to adopt one, but Mom and Jen refused me, claiming they may be rabid.

So...there was nothing I could do, either.

So they died. God willing. Sometimes He ties your hands.

But that peaceful repose, especially of the kitten with the arm wrapped around the other and head tucked on her neck, was in my mind afterward.

Anyway, DailyPay sorted itself out and corrected the hours.

Random note, I signed up for multiple debit cards. :)

Day off.

I've been studying Genesis at home for the past week.

I spent some time playing...for the first time...with my Derwent Inktense. I've yet to finish the work, so I'm not posting it here just yet. :)

I worked on trying to link my new Discover Bank account and Trax.

Otherwise it's been a lazy day watching the dogs and t.v.

I finished the night out with some hot chili. By the way, the internet later was out for the night...so that was that.

Easy work day at 4 with the new girl, Jazz.

Randomly decided to look up Danny Trejo's Christian testimony. I do pray, God willing, his choice of movie roles will reflect his walk with Jesus one day.

Randomly decided to print out a lot of coloring pages 60-80...en masse. I'm shocked how many pages my printer squeezed out on a tiny bit of beginner ink. That's promising.

Worked on linking financial accounts of sorts.

I added a new tutorial to my site. :D

I had some Bible time, did some chores, and balanced my budget. :D

After work, I came home and played a bit too much on that new Hamster's Playground game.

Day off

Harmony and I spent a lot of time together. we played video games and we tried to make screen capturing work, where you could see her playing while she was playing, but sadly it never worked and she got really upset.

I added a new tutorial to my site.

I got locked out of my new Discover debit account. :(

Played on surveys.

Sunday, December 10, 2023

Day off. Rainy day. I didn't sleep well.

A rough night's sleep is Satan's 'go-to' to discourage me from going to church the next morning. Even early the next morning, this time.

Church. I enjoyed Bible study in Genesis. I had a good prayer time later that day and also listened to the audio Bible. I've been constantly playing the livestream of the old and new testament on Youtube.

Um...I used the credit card and spent $70 worth on taco Bell for the family on Uber Eats. Yikes. It was a delicious meal...plenty of food...worth it...but heinously expensive.

We ordered Baja Blast sodas but they were nearly tasteless. :/

I tried to see if there was anyway to upgrade my projector, which is dying by the way, slowly, could be updated to 4K. It can't.

I went window shopping online again, namely for poseable barbies.

I also looked for a Spice Girls polaroid. Aunt Heather had one when I was a kid and didn't sue it, but she never let me have it...so I think I want to buy one, someday.

Monday, December 11, 2023

Day off.

The day of the credit card spree.

I ordered groceries on Instacart.

I went Christmas shopping and spent just under a hundred dollars on Amazon, but went with the monthly payments option to cover it over time.

I got a toy phone and watch for Star. Two $10 gift cards for the girls. And stocking stuffers: a pan stylus, flip book kit for Harmony, and a PC controller.

The irony is that this also involved budgeting.

And I also got some cleaning done, too.

Tuesday, December 12, 2023

I worked with Becky in the morning shift. It was an okay day, just that gossip is a bit rampant and I really need to exercise wisdom myself to not speak.

Everyone in Jen's house is sick and home from school, but thank God I had some kids medicine on hand. Star also ran a high fever.

I got yet even more budgeting done.

I'm still trying to keep an eye out for when my W2's are supposed to come in.

Work day with Bob and Ashley...very busy day.

I helped Ashley put out school supplied and office supplies. They FINALLY had rubber bands, and I jumped on the chance to buy them...howbeit on the credit card.

I also picked up some more stocking stuffers.

Later in the evening, a 16 year old girl came in, moved to weeping. She started by saying, "I'm sorry to bother you (she was no bother, of course) but she needed to call the police.

I deferred the matter to Bob while I handled customers. She claimed her mother assaulted her and was right outside with her boyfriend, and for his part, Bob refused to let them in the store for her protection.

It didn't seem like she lived with her, because she didn't know her Mom's address.

The police did eventually come, but I learned later, sadly, in the end, that she was made to go home with her mother. I don't know the details, but on the outside it was sad to hear it ended that way.

After work, my money came in around 11 p.m. and I paid off most of the credit cards...save for the Amazon card. I moved money around for another card to get paid once the hold cleared (spoiler: it didn't clear until the 20th, a week later.)

What followed was yet another night of sleeping poorly.

P.S. I was finally able to get into my loan account and I realized it wasn't as bad as I thought.

I tried out Swagbucks...a little too much.

My Chime card finally came in, though empty and unloaded. I'll need to put $25 on it someday.

Thursday, December 14, 2023

Played on Swagbucks.

Solved my Discover dilemma and everything was put back in order, praise Jesus. I learned linking the particular bank account was a trigger. And that doing it on my non-activated phone was actually needed for the verification process.

I took a shower before I went to work odd hours today. Truck day. Scheduled from noon to 4:30. I even skipped a lunch break and stayed until close to 5. And yet I was still really tired despite a very short shift. It may have had something to do with lack of proper sleep.

I got a flea collar for Roxy, by the way.

I have $17 of my check left...already. Since yesterday. All those credit card bills.

My packages came in. :D I gave Harmony the controller early, only to find it would work neither on Ps4 or the TV. Yikes.

Friday, December 15, 2023

Day off.

Mom finally returned.

Grandpa kindly took my up to Family Dollar so I could buy groceries on my food stamps...plenty of frozen nuggets and patties. And lots of soda. Used up my $80.

I spent time trying to figure out how to link ACH transfers and managed to get somewhere with Paypal, until I learned I can't transfer out of paypal to those accounts. Boo.

Swagbucks and Survery Junkie. Nuff said.

I printed out Christmas labels to help Aaliyah, who was wrapping more presents.

I tried to take a Starbucks custom cup and it went well until I tried to glitter and bedazzle it. Trashed. Must try again some other time, God willing.

Saturday, December 16, 2023

I went to work in the morning.

On a sudden whim, I blew the dust off my old glasses prescription and ordered a simple new pair...one that's not scratched and smudged. And I played a bit with the virtual try on, lol.

I didn't leave a whole lot of breadcrumbs on the internet about what I did this day.

Sunday, December 17, 2023

Day Off.

It was raining too much, so I chose not to attend church.

Work day with Becky at 4. Very easy day.

Not a lot of stocking required, so we just checked things to see what was expired or unsellable, mostly.

I came away with a LOT of free stuff, ahem. DVDs. Velvet coloring kits for the kids, two garbage bags of little candles. Several large bags of expired Hershey's cupcakes and smashed Reese's cupcakes, and other expired foods.

I also bought roach bait to deal with my growing german cockroach problem. :( I didn't put them out right away, though.

Aside from that, I did spend on the credit card yet again.

Grandpa helped me unload when I came home, and in return, he got some free stuff as well.

Monday, December 18, 2023

Work day with Becky and Bob. Hard work. Truck day. Lots of stocking required.

Toward the end of the night I managed to embarrass myself by knocking over beer stacked in a corner and spilling some. They kindly took over cleaning it, but it was definitely embarrassing. A total 'Why me?' moment.

I was a $1 short on my drawer count, to boot, and some medicine made Grandpa fall asleep, so I couldn't contact him to pick me up. Thank God Mom was available.

I did a little research on that roach bait I bought and finally put them out.

Google made the mistake of sending me an email offering a Google Pixel 8, with that amazing photography-like camera that I can't buy without using credit...and it's tempted me ever since.

On a positive note, my boss Dave gave everyone $25 and the new kid, Alex, spent his up. $5 of mine went into a work pool to do something nice for him. I would later spend it on odds and ends on another work day.

I also drove myself crazy, not to my credit, in the meantime on what to spend the new cash on.

I got the Christmas items wrapped.

Spent some time in the Word.

Dad sent me a nice photo.

Work Day with Becky and Qwanza. Pretty easy and normal day.

Toward the end I was asked if I'd stay and extra couple hours, but I refused. I was at the end of my four day work streak and my feet hurt, and so I was ready for it to be done.

I don't remember what happened the rest of the day. Maybe a nap?

Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Yesterday.

Day Off.

Played on Dall-E. Tried out a new Bible trivia game on Steam. Harmony came over to play games. We had pizza and some of the family had salad.

Lazy day.

Roach traps and the increase in cold brought out more roaches than usual since I set the bait out, and now we wait to see.

Thursday, December 21, 2023 TODAY

According to Facebook, Maranda is almost arriving for the holidays to Florida. Bruh.

The roaches are less visible, moving slower...I saw one...but now I know they are hiding inside the walls.

We had a staff meeting this morning, a first, mostly about rampant gossip and strife in the workplace. They also dealt with what was going on between Kim and Bob, howbeit privately.

Oh, and the computers are slow today,...so no one could really tell if they were logged in or out, or being paid or not. But I'm sure David will handle it, God willing.

I got some more bottled soda. I was out.

Jen had brought me up there. Grandpa's truck died.

I slept well...even too much...I had trouble sleeping at night but in the morning, I kept snoozing the alarm.

The schedule FINALLY came out and I learned enough to know I get Christmas Eve off. Praise Jesus!

God willing, this could mean I also get a four-day week off. Friday, Saturday, Sunday (eve) and Monday, when we are closed Christmas day!

However, I go into work at 4 today.

This morning, I watched kid shows and Sesame street songs with Star, while the dogs tried to play with us. She had fun. Nice family moment. And we shared a Reese's cupcake, so that was nice.

IT TOOK TWO HOURS, BUT I COVERED THE LAST 17 DAYS! PRAISE JESUS!

Now I was able to clear the brain dump notes off my board.

Updates are getting fewer and farther between, eh? :/

P.S. A lot of the days seems blurred together, but it got worked out.

4:03 p.m. My projector died after six months. The bulb burned out. I hastily bought a new one under $70, and it's due to, potentially, arrive in two days...as are my glasses.

Played video games and snacked out with Harmony.

We watched home movies on the phone.

Currently trying to help her raise a few bucks to get Minecraft on her phone. I sent her what I could, but now enough. Advocated to Dad and Anna. Work soon.
